At the end of October Aeroflot Group announced its intentions to lease three new Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional aircraft. The decision for adding the new aircraft to the carrier’s fleet was made at the Board of Directors meeting held on September 26, 2017. The deal will be signed between Aeroflot, VEB-Leasing and Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCA).
Aeroflot expects delivery of the three aircraft in October – November 2017 but added that the schedule is not fixed and the deadlines may be amended or extended. The deal is part of a larger delivery of 20 new SSJ 100 aircraft to Aeroflot.
On October 4, 2017 Aeroflot also confirmed the delivery of two new Airbus A320 jets equipped with sharklets, known to reduce fuel consumption.
The new additions will improve the capacity of Russia’s flagship carrier. Currently the airline’s fleet serves 1,074 destinations in 177 countries worldwide.
