Airbus Delivers 12,000th Aircraft

In the 48 years since its founding in 1970, Airbus has built and delivered 12,000 aircraft. Delta Air Lines took delivery of the 12,000th plane, an A220-100, in a ceremony in Mirabel, Quebec.

Impressively, the European airframer delivered most of these aircraft only in the past decade; it surpassed the 6,000 mark in 2010.
