Australian Airlines reported a further increase in the number of passengers transported in October 2017. The company carried 1.2 million travelers, which is an increase of 8.7% on last October.

The traffic expansion is mainly due to the increase in the number of European flights offered by the airline. The capacity, measured in available seat-kilometers (ASK) grew with 1.2% to reach 2.2 billion, while the revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK) marked an increase of 2.7% to more than 1.7 billion. The passenger load factor also rose with 1.2 percentage points to 77.8% compared to October 2016.

There was an overall increase in passenger traffic for the period from January to October 2017 with 13.3% compared to the same period last year. The total number of fliers who used the carrier reached nearly 11 million. ASK for the period was more than 22.4 billion, which marks an increase of 7.5% and RPK rose by 8.1% to 17.4 billion. The passenger load factor for the first ten months of 2017 reached 77.4%, which is just 0.4% up compared to last year.
