Avion Express to Form Maltese Subsidiary

The Lithuanian ACMI carrier Avion Express will establish a subsidiary named Avion Express Malta.

The company received its Air Operator’s Certificate and Air License from Maltese regulators and plans to launch ACMI services based in that island nation for regular and charter airlines by the end of the month. The new entity will fly an Airbus A320 aircraft on behalf of Norwegian Air.

The airline’s chief executive officer Darius Kajokas shared that the firm’s decision to grow in Malta was influenced by that nation’s approval by the FAA, thus offering the subsidiary access to the US market.
