According to the internal information reported by Delta Air Lines, they are close to a decision about which aircraft to replace their fleet of McDonnell Douglas planes.
The US carrier is in contact with both Airbus and Boeing and the aircraft considered for the replacement are the A320neo and A321neo and 737 MAX 8 and MAX 10 respectively.
Delta is expected to announce its decision by the end of the year. It will most probably include I firm order of 100 jets with options for 100 more. The new aircraft will be used to replace the airline’s 111 MD-88s and 62 MD-90-30s as well as the older Boeing 757 and Airbus A320 planes.
