Delta Air Lines released its operational and financial report for the third quarter of 2019. Between July and September, it transported 55.2 million passengers, setting an all-time company record for the quarter.
The Atlanta-based carrier’s adjusted operating revenue rose 6.5% to $12.55 billion, setting a new quarterly record. Its net income jumped 21.5% to about $1.5 billion. Matching the rest of the air freight industry, the revenue of Delta’s cargo segment plummeted 17% year-on-year.
At the end of September, the airline announced that it will purchase a 20% stake in LATAM for $1.9 billion, in order to enhance intra-American connectivity.
