Fraport announced that London-based easyJet was awarded slots at Frankfurt International airport. The allocation is confirmed, however it is unclear whether the low-cost carrier will start using the slots.
In case easyJet decides to commence operations at Frankfurt International, it will be the third budget carrier to offer services from the German hub after Ryanair and Wizz Air.
The UK-based airline has recently gained access to Berlin Tegel airport as well. It comes as part of the EUR40million (USD46.5million) deal with insolvent Air Berlin that features dry-leases on up to twenty-five A320 aircraft and slots at the gateway.
