EasyJet announced that they are going to open a new base at Bordeaux Airport and will station three A320s there from the summer of the next year. It is expected that this increased capacity will help the LCC pass the threshold of two million passengers per year in 2018.
The airline opened its last base in Palma de Mallorca in March 2017 and offers seasonal operations from there. The aircraft serving the base are also three A320s as the ones envisaged for the French airport.
Pascal Personne, CEO Bordeaux Airport, commented that the partnership with easyJet is a real asset for the development of the airport and the entire region since its very beginning back in 2006. The carrier started serving Bordeaux then with flights from London Luton and added a link from Bristol on the following year.
Bordeaux airport will be the sixth base for easyJet in France Paris’ Orly and CDG airports, Lyon, Toulouse and Nice.
