El Al to Retire Boeing 747 Fleet Before 2020

El Al Israel Airlines will retire its three remaining Boeing 747 aircraft in October. It will replace these planes with the 787-9 Dreamliner; its fleet includes ten aircraft of that model. According to STAR Fleet data available in mba’s REDBOOK, throughout the airline’s lifetime, it has flown 30 747 family aircraft.

The Israeli flag carrier’s decision aligns with announcements made recently by other carriers such as Virgin Atlantic, KLM, and Qantas.
