Ravn Air Group is the largest regional airline in Alaska. It has announced that the FAA has approved its Safety Management System (SMS).
As the name suggests, an SMS is a systematic approach to managing safety. It contains the accountability, procedures, policies and necessary organizational structures.
Dave Pflieger, Ravn’s President and CEO, said the carrier is committed to providing the best to the local and regional air travel across Alaska. They are excited to have their program accepted by the FAA as they now meet the same standards as much bigger US airlines. He further ensured that the safety of their passengers and team members is the number one priority for the airline.
