Urumqi Air of HNA Group, a low-cost airline, will be expanding its fleet by 20 ARJ21-700 aircraft.
HNA Group and COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) have signed a Letter of Intent for the acquisition of the airplanes, which is the first activity after the signing of a cooperation agreement between COMAC and HNA Group earlier this year.
The ARJ21-700 has received substantial interest from the market and Urumqi Air will be the 22nd operator of the aircraft. Overall, 473 ARJ21s have been recorded so far. The signing of the Letter of Intent was completed at an official ceremony attended by executives and important figures from the parties involved.
COMAC and HNA’s partnership is of significant value to both partners and the companies are happy to strengthen their existing ties further through this aircraft acquisition.
