Delhi-based IndiGo Airlines received its first ATR72-600 aircraft this past weekend. This is the first plane out of fifty of the type the carrier is expecting to take delivery from Avions de Transport Regional (Toulouse Blagnac).
The low-cost carrier will start using the new turboprop on commercial flights on December 21. Its first route will be between Hyderabad International and Mangalore. Afterwards, the ATR72-600 will be operated on destinations to Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore International, Mangalore, Madurai, Nagpur, Tirupati and Rajahmundry.
