LOT has announced that it is going to use three new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on its routes to Chicago, New York, and Toronto for the spring and summer of 2018. Passengers can already start buying tickets for the flights operated by the new aircraft.
Each new aircraft will seat 294 passengers in three-class configuration – 24 in business, 21 in premium economy, and 249 in economy class. The Polish airliner has order a total of four 787-9 Dreamliners. Three of them will commence service in 2018, while the fourth one will be used for commercial flights as of 2019.
The schedule for the new aircraft is as follows:
- to Chicago – from late March / early April
- to New York (JFK) – from the beginning of May
- to Toronto, Canada – from the beginning of July
The new Dreamliners may also be used on certain flights to Seoul.
Currently, LOT operates 8 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners configured in a three-class setting – 18 in business, 21 in premium economy, and 213 in economy. The 787 aircraft will reach a total of 12 with the addition of the four new 787-9s, but the airline plans for their number to become 16 by 2020.
