Two Japanese financial institutions announced a definitive agreement to purchase Aircastle, a Connecticut-based aircraft leasing company. Affiliate entities of the Marubeni Corporation and the Mizuho Leasing Company will acquire the firm in a deal worth around $7.4 billion.

Aircastle’s owned and managed fleet currently includes 283 aircraft on lease to 89 operators in 47 countries.
