Mexico City’s primary airport, Benito Juárez International Airport, released its passenger traffic data for August 2019. The facility served about 4.43 million passengers last month, a 4.9% increase compared to the same month of 2018. While traffic on domestic flights increased 6.3%, international routes only grew 2.5%. The airport’s total movements rose 4.7% to over 40,000.
On a year-to-date basis, the airport’s cargo operations have decreased 4.5% in total tonnage, in sync with the downturn of the air freight industry at large.
