On Wednesday, January 24, Qatar Airways announced on Twitter that it finally expects its first Airbus A350-1000 without giving further details.
The airline was supposed to add the maiden A350-1000 to its fleet in December 2017, but due to the specific configuration it requested for the aircraft, there was a delay of several weeks. The aircraft is still in Toulouse and should be delivered to Qatar in February.
Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker explained the delay as a result of fitting the aircraft with the specific business-seats called Qsuite.
The airline is the biggest customer of the A350-1000 and currently has an order of 37 aircraft placed with Airbus.
