Qatar Airways Considering Minority Stake in TAAG Angola Airlines

Qatar Airways may purchase a 39% stake in TAAG Angola Airlines, depending on the outcome of its active negotiations with the Government of Angola, which currently owns its flag carrier in full.

The Angolan operator’s all-Boeing fleet of thirteen aircraft is split between five 737-700, three 777-200ER, and five 777-300ER models, per mba’s REDBOOK fleet database.

Yesterday, Qatar Airways announced that it will launch non-stop flights from its Doha base to the Angolan capital, Luanda. It will operate these flights five times per week using Boeing 787 aircraft, from March 2020.
