The Russian United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) unveiled its new long-range version of its Sukhoi Business Jet at the Dubai Airshow. The jet is operated by the Russian business operator RusJet and can carry 18 passengers and cover up to 4,420 km.
UAC president Yury Slyusar confirmed that the jet was certified to carry additional fuel tanks, which means it can now cover even longer distances of up to 6,000 km. There are about 120 SBJ 100s in use worldwide, nine of which are in VIP configuration and are in service in Russia, Kazakhstan and Thailand.
According to Slyusar the Middle East is one of the priority markets for the promotion of the new business jet. He confirmed that they expect about 10-12 orders for SBJ aircraft for the next five years and that some of them will most probably come from customers in this region.
