Rosaviatsiya, the Russian Federation’s civil aviation authority, released a report covering nationwide passenger traffic in June 2019. About 12.6 million people flew in Russia in the month, up 9.5% compared to the same month of 2018.
Aeroflot, the flag carrier, dominates Russia’s commercial aviation market. It transported more than 3.3 million passengers in June, contributing to its 3.3% year-on-year growth rate. Pobeda and Rossiya, two subsidiaries of the Aeroflot Group holding company, scaled up their operations by 43.2% and 7.7%, respectively, in comparison to June 2018.
Meanwhile, S7 Airlines, a privately-owned operator, grew by 19.5% in the same time period.
