TAP Air Portugal and EL AL Israel Airlines announced that they have signed a codeshare agreement that will give passengers more options to fly between Lisbon and Tel Aviv. In addition to that it will provide seasonal services operated by Sundor on behalf of EL AL for travelers from Tel Aviv to Lisbon.

David Maimon, President & Chief Executive Officer of EL AL Israel Airlines, commented that the agreement is a result of the increased passenger traffic between Israel and Portugal in the past few years. The codeshare agreement between the two flag carriers was a natural next step in order to provide for the future growth of the airline and answer the travelers’ demands.

The new codeshare entered into force as of October 29 and facilitates passengers served by both airlines using the airports of Amsterdam, London Heathrow, Brussels, Marseille, Madrid, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, Vienna, Rome, Milan, Venice, Warsaw and Bucharest.

The agreement also covers the direct seasonal flights between Tel Aviv and Lisbon operated by Sundor.
