Tianjin Airlines started offering new special flights from Tianjin to Auckland via Chongqing to meet the higher demand for routes to New Zealand and Australia associated with the beginning of the travel season in the southern hemisphere.

The Tianjin-Chongqing-Auckland special flight will be available until December 15 at a return price beginning at 1,000 yuan (US$151). The route will be covered two times per week. The flights from China to New Zealand will be every Wednesday and Sunday, while the return flights are on Monday and Thursday. In both directions the passengers have a couple of hours stay at Chongqing.

Auckland is the biggest city in the South Island of New Zealand. It is the third most favored travel destination for Chinese travelers.
