US-Bangla Airlines received its fourth 737-800 jet from AerCap. The Boeing aircraft is powered by CFM engines and was manufactured in 2007.
US-Bangla Airlines is the largest private airline based in Bangladesh and serves both domestic and international markets. Its CEO, Imran Asif, shared the airline’s excitement about taking delivery of the fourth 737-800 just a year after receiving the first one in October 2016. All the jets are on lease from AerCap, which has become a strong partner of the carrier. The company is planning to turn the Boeing 737NG aircraft into the backbone of its fleet and is considering even adding a few 737 MAX planes.
AerCap President and Chief Commercial Officer Philip Scruggs also confirmed their happiness to work with the Bangladesh airline and that they inspect their partnership to grow further. Being the sole supplier of US-Bangla’s 737-800 fleet is also of particular importance for AerCap.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Managing Director of the airline stated that the cooperation between the two partners is a prerequisite for US-Bangla Airlines to become the fastest-growing private airline in Bangladesh.
